Mental health, energy crisis and laughter all part of the Boost Choose Now roadshow

Boost Drinks has revealed plans for its new student campaign which, as well as offering up some great opportunities for fun with top comedians, Paddy Rafferty and Micky Bartlett, will tackle mental health issues and the energy crisis.

The Boost Choose Now campaign – which encourages people to fulfil their passions and live their lives to the fullest – has already been at the CastleCourt and Victoria Square students nights and visited Belfast Met, Ulster University Coleraine and Magee, and various student accommodation sites, across Northern Ireland

Francine Matthews, Brand Manager, Boost Drinks, said: “Boost realises that students spend most of their time doing a mix of studying, classes, working part-time and, of course, having fun. But it’s also important that they make time for self-care, so we plan to show up where they are, when it’s important and with some great advice that will help them succeed during their time at university.”

The drinks company is working with a Life Coach to provide advice on good mental health practices and cash to help with one student’s energy bills.

Fran said: “We want to normalise the discussion around mental health by making it a part of our campaign. We will be working with therapist, Louisa McMenemy, who will deliver vital messaging that will help someone navigate life at university. We also plan to help a student tackle the energy crisis by giving away £500 which will be a weight off someone’s shoulders.”

Life Coach, Louisa McMenemy, from LM Therapeutic Counselling, said: “I’m so happy that Boost is making mental health part of its student campaign. The more we talk about it the better, as it will help to break down stigmas and barriers people have about asking for help when they are struggling. Your health, both physical and mental, should be a priority.”

Boost is also bringing laughter to Victoria Square on November 29th, continued Fran: “Laughter is a great stress reliever so the Victoria Square Social Comedy Night sponsored by Boost will bring top comedians, including Paddy Rafferty and Mickey Bartlett, to Victoria Square to perform for one-hundred students at a private gig in an exclusive area of the centre. Not only that but we will choose the winner of the Life Coaching sessions and the £500 on the same night”, concluded Fran.

Boost was established in 2001 after founder (and MD) Simon Gray saw the opportunity to offer consumers a great quality energy drink at a fraction of the price of other brands at that time.

Two years later Boost, alongside Hardy Distribution, brought the brand to the local market, making the brand 20 years old in NI next year. Boost Drinks now owns the province’s top selling soft drink within the local independent convenience channel1.

Boost offers Energy, Sport and Iced Coffee products in various pack formats.
