Furniture specialist invests in new Dublin showroom to mark 40th birthday

LEADING furniture specialist Sliderobes has invested ‘significantly’ in a fully refurbished Dublin showroom as part of the company’s 40th birthday celebrations.

Sliderobes opened its first showroom in Dublin in 1983, introducing high quality and stylish ‘made to measure’ sliding wardrobes to the Irish market.

Now a household name and the biggest sliding door manufacturer in Ireland, Sliderobes creates and installs a state-of-the-art range of bespoke furniture and storage solutions across 12 locations in the UK and Ireland, including Dublin, Limerick and Belfast.

The company’s operations in the Republic of Ireland are run by the Bowe family – David, Denis and  Yvonne – whose late father Denis Snr took over the reins 34 years ago.

The Dublin showroom has been in its current location at the Red Cow Retail Centre in Ballymount since 2010.  Now the 4000sqft space has undergone a full refurbishment to highlight Sliderobes’ extensive range of modern interior design and storage solutions.

Customers will be able to walk through 10 different room sets showing a variety of bespoke fitted furniture options – from traditional sliding bedroom wardrobes and walk-in spaces to fitted living room, dining room, home office and media units.

The company’s ‘Design Studio’ concept gives customers an opportunity to meet with Sliderobes designers, explore samples and use the latest 3D and Virtual Reality software to visualise how fitted furniture will look in their home.

With the renovation of the Dublin Showroom, we wanted to create an amazing experience for customers from the moment they walk through the door,” said Sliderobes’ Head of Design Joanna Azevedo.

The aim was to create a penthouse apartment feel, with bedroom, living room, dining and dressing room sets – all carefully designed to display Sliderobes’ beautiful collection of colours, finishes and mechanisms,” she added.

We also wanted to inspire customers with our design ideas as they make their way around.”

The new showroom is already proving a huge hit with customers, according to Sliderobes Ireland Managing Director David Bowe.

We’re absolutely delighted with the showroom renovation,” said David. “It’s a great representation of who we are as a brand and perfectly shows off our variety of fitted furniture products.

The customers we’ve had through the doors have all been blown away by the designs.  It really shows them the quality of the Sliderobes product up close and helps give them a feel for how we can transform their space. We’re very excited about where this will take us as a business.

The Sliderobes Group, headquartered in Belfast, was acquired in 2016 by Northern Ireland businessmen Mervyn McCall and Paul Rothwell.

Sliderobes Group CEO Paul Rothwell commented on the company’s 40th birthday and the Dublin investment in its Dublin operations.

At Sliderobes, we are delighted to be celebrating our 40th year in business,” said Paul.

The first Sliderobes showroom opened its doors in Dublin 40 years ago and since then, we have led the way in beautifully crafted, made-to-measure furniture. Our versatility of our products has stood the test of time, having fitted over 100,000 wardrobes over the years – with no two ever the same.

“As our brand and market share has grown across Ireland in recent years, we knew it was time to invest in a renovation that perfectly demonstrates how we’ve evolved as a brand since then,” he added.

Our Head of Design, Joanna Azevedo and the team in Dublin have done an excellent job of creating a showroom that perfectly marries design and storage solutions.”
